Roy Tomlinson: ReMap
The Center for Contemporary Arts & Culture
Pacific Northwest College of Art - PNCA
September 1 - September 22, 2016
Opening Reception: Thursday, September 1, 2016 • 6:00 - 8:00 pm
Roy Tomlinson: ReMap is an exhibition of new work comprised of a large-scale installation and a new series of process-driven works on paper.
The exhibition will feature a fabricated 12’ x16’ light-sealed room that will be illuminated only by the viewer with a self-activated flash. Tomlinson is interested in the possibility of disrupting the usual pathways of visual interpretation as a way to challenge the viewer’s conditioned reaction to perceived visual information. The work is inspired by Tomlinson’s interests in the nature of perception, physics, and Buddhist psychology.
This work is presented with the support of the McGeady Faculty Development Fund at Pacific Northwest College of Art.
Roy Tomlinson: ReMap will be open Monday-Saturday, 10am-6pm at the Center for Contemporary Arts & Culture, PNCA, 511 NW Broadway, Portland, OR 97209.
